Okay hello clarinetists.

Anyway let me say some things here.
Yes it's after syf & pop,
but same rules still apply yeah?
It's weird during sectionals & combine without the sec 4s,
i totally agree mann.

Please come for the practices during the holidays.
This are the practices where we bond get back to improve ourselves.
Else i'm gonna call & call.
MUHAHAA. okayokay look below now :X

Attire, please be appropriate.
-Girls fringe all up, forehead must be seen.

Posture, same thing.
-Occupy only 1/3 of the chair.
-No slouching during combine.
-No talking/whispering when mr sim is talking.
-Left foot out, and feet flat foor.

Scores, files.
-Everyone must have your own file with pencil inside.
-Don't have that particular score, please either photocopy yourself or tell me.

NOTE :
-Those who have yet to hand up result slips, hand in to dewi.
-Remember to bring thermometer every practice.
(H1N1 is getting more in numbers)
-If you need reeds, tell section leader or someone in charge.
(don't keep chewing your reeds please)

** Since some instruments are affected by those things last
practice (you guys know what),
I need all of you to help check EVERY case of every instrument
in cupboard,
including yours to do the same thing as before.
Since they are hiding somewhere in the brown brown thing,
brush them OFF. not in.

Okay hello section mates. It's Amirah here (:

Okay, it's close to midnight and I'm blogging here in our section blog.
Reason why I can't sleep is because I'm missing you guys and the band, a lot!
I know you guys are probably sleeping like a pig, or studying your asses off right now.
Bad example I'm showing right now.

I'm listening to SYF recording and I would like to say you guys did great. Give some credits to yourself instead of saying all sorts of negative things okay? I'm sure you all have gotten over it and I'm just being silly for bringing it up again. But yeah, just in case. Remember how hard you guys have worked and all those patience and determination. Those funny moments to ( DON'T THINK ABOUT ME FARTING! )

Remember, take every practice seriously. Those times are precious and that's the time for you guys to buck up. If you're already good, still continue working hard! Ace!

I know it might be weird without us, the secondary fours in the section now. Take it as a good thing. It's about time you listen to your sound. Feeling awkward is fine. You should know that we are always here for you guys. So make us proud. Cause in the end, it's you who will get better. Not us, we are all here studying maciam nak mampos ( like want to die ). Well I'm not really studying that hard, YET. Another bad example. Don't follow don't follow.

Nagging is natural so, TAHAN.
CLIP UP your fringes baby girls. I don't want your hair to cover your beautiful forehead & eyes while practising. guys! Tuck in your shirts! Posture! Remember. I'm sure you guys will give the what the fook face while reading this but yeah, same thing still do apply okay. Please. Keep the band alive.

Take good care of yourself and the new members. Some might be hard to handle, I understand. But it's your responsibility now to teach them and make them part of us. Don't let anyone feel or be left out. I know some already are, bring them in! okay? I want us to be united always. Keep us seniors in touch. Although sometimes I don't feel loooved or something from the section, I don't mind. But the rest! Make sure they feel like home okay!?!? Understand not?

Work hard, I believe in ALL OF YOU.

Jocuri used to be what the fish to you guys. But see, after much practices, you guys even performed it without scores, DURING SYF! Wonderful isn't it? See, nothing is impossible. It's how you manage your time and how much you want to work. It's whether you want to or not, not whether you can or can't. Get me?

I'm in 4N2, at level two near the staircase there. The other seniors will be in 4E2, the opposite block. Go to any of us if need to. Please. 3E2 students, you're so god damn near me. HAHA, come find me if there's anything okay? Updates about the section needed.

You guys have given me hope to work harder. Honestly. Not drama-ing with you guys now.
Knowing I need to guide, I have to do better. Thank you for being patient with me all these while okay mates? I know I've been an ass at times but yeah, that's just me. I'm proud that we achieved second placing with our pachelbel canon and even prouder for being Champion with our Clarinet Polka. Since then, we've played that song so many bloody times till we get bored with it but yeah, it's an honour that we represent our cca with that. Congratulations, again.

Keep having section outings, I know I did not organise one so yeah, someone else have to! haha. Make sure that you guys have section lunch together. Bonding okay. Especially with the secondary ones. Some are easy to handle but some aren't so yeah, work hard!

There will be miracles, when you believe.

Dear section mates ,
I'm happy and proud of each & everyone of you ; even the seniors .
We pass through SYF this morning ,we still pulled through it together
although we wanted the color of our medal to change so badly .

I don't really care much about what we've gotten this morning ,
because in my eyes ,each & everyone of you are already winners of your own .
& we know that , to us , we are already a GOLD band .

Could you recall Singapore International Band Festival last year ; 23rd July 2008
We've gotten COP , and we worked hard till today , that we've gotten a SILVER for SYF .
It's a very big gap from COP to SILVER , don't you think so too ??
We should give each other a pat on the back & said
" you've done a great job ! & i'm proud of you ! "

Don't be sad cause this is the start of something that we
could work on for a better result in future for Sec 1-3s

For Sec 4s ; This is your last SYF that you represent the Woodgrove name with you .
Don't be upset cause you still have memories to look back in the pass .

- 2006 ; Giovialita ; you guys performed your first 2 songs ,
Drums Ole ! & Free Spirit ! a magical moment for you all i believe ;DD

- 2007 ; SYF ; Band 27 , Heroic Saga Grade 5 - 6 and Safari .
It's a very hard piece to tackle
& it was your first time entering SYF .
December ; we went to Genting Highland for a International Competition
& we've gotten a SILVER .
* we played Post-Card From Singapore Mvmnt 1 & 2 and Into The Light *

- 2008 ; SIBF ; we played Dublin Dances & Passacaglia. It was a great impact to the whole band , it was a very big wake up call for each & everyone of us .
We worked hard since than .

Few weeks later , we had our 2nd N7 Cluster Competition .
& we are the ?? CHAMPION and you should be proud of that ! We played Clarinet Polka
* remember somebody farted loudly before going to the stage ?? *(inside joke)
December ;you guys went to Perth for a music exchange .

- 2009 ; SYF ; band 101 , Jocuri & Overture No. 1 . Clinch a SILVER !
The last note of Jocuri plays back the track of what your life have been since the day you step foot in Band Room and how fast time flies , that you're already stepping down .

& i would like to thank all the seniors from the bottom of my heart ,
that you've thought us well and made us who we are now .
We appreciate those time that we face through all
the ups and downs together as a section . We cry as a section , we laugh as a section !

We appreciate all the scoldings, cause we know that it's for our own good .
If you guys would n't scold us , than who will ??
You made us into a better person & also a musician .
Without those support from you guys , we don't think that we are able to get this far .
We appreciate it from the bottom of our heart and we would not forget what you've thought us all C=

Stepping down doesn't mean that we won't be seeing you guys forever .
Well , i'll plan of a small section outing/gathering aites ?!

It's not the end of the world !
It's only the beginning of a new chapter in life .

Hey i'm here .. AGAIN .

It's 3 more days to our SYF .
If you're nervous , you should n't be . If you're scared , you should n't be .
The more nervous/scared you are , you will lose your concentration .

Remember one thing , you are not alone .
We are ALL in this TOGETHER . You won't be going up the stage on your own .
We section mates & band mates would be behind/side/front of you !

& one more thing , not to forgot that Mr Sim has always been there for us .
Standing right in front , waiting for us to watch him .
It's one chance , we can't repeat .

SYF is like oral , if we don't pronounce our words correctly , the teacher will deduct marks
same goes for SYF , only that it is in a musicality way .
SYF , if our articulation , intonation , dynamic & tempo isn't right ,
the 7 judges will deduct marks .
& it is not only 1 or 2 marks .. it would be more than that .

If you're nervous , just swallow your saliva , wiggle your toes & smile !

When you're on stage already seated . Stare at the judges .
Give the the Flame-ery Stare at them .
& of course at the same time keep watching Mr Sim ,
so that you'll know when to pick up your instruments .

When the song starts , look at Mr Sim's Baton & don't lose focus !
It's only for about 12 mins . The feeling is different when you focus
& when you're not focusing .
Just don't let history repeats itself .

& we're all in this together ! NOW or NEVER !

tomorrow will be our 2D 1 N camp . I'm sure we are going to be very tired ,
well that doesn't mean that we have to slack and give our tired face .
In fact, we should stay focus and train yourself to tahan the tiredness .
No matter what , just stay focus .

I love paramore! hence, fences. LOL.
Okay, that's pretty lame.

Alright, actually I don't know what to begin with.
But well, since SYF's round the corner, I guess I only have that to start with then.

Well well, I know there's quite alot of you in Band B.
Hmmm. I also notice some of you in Band B tends to just slack & talk during your own time for sectionals.
Maybe some of you think that the possibility of getting promoted to Band A is really slim, impossible you may think.
But well, there's no gain without pain, right?
So pull up your socks, work hard! Make what you think you deserve come true.
Some of you may just only have this one, last & only SYF.
Don't waste your every lil' or single chance at it.
'cause I can tell you, you'll regret graduating without having a chance to experience what SYF is like.

People in Band A, don't get complacent too!
I hope you know what to do if you realised you're dropping in your standard.
'cause there ain't gonna be any seconds spared before you know you're kicked outta Band A or something.
I believed Mr Sim had made his expectations of you guys quite clear already.

All in all, keep the zest going!
Well, if there's any. I meant no sarcasm, but yeah, that's what I really mean. Haha.
Don't fall before your Gold medal even made it there, all of you are needed to get it up there.
Gather all your strength, put in everything you can, remember your common goal.

Okay finally I'm blogging in this blog.
It's pretty dead isn't it? I know, so please people, get your asses here and start blogging!

Day 6 Band 101.
Ample time to practice and practice!

BAND A: I know that combine have been tiring and some of you might feel stress as you find that you played pretty shitty. Good thing that you know there's still room for improvements!
Jia Yous! Anything to clarify, seniors are always by your side to guide. Okay?

Band B: I know that you guys might feel a little bit left out? Okay dears, don't feel that way. I mean, take this as a good time for you to practice. We don't even have much time to practice by ourselves. While you guys have all the time to! I am so jealous that you guys have lots of time for self sectionals you knowwww. Okay, what I'm trying to say is, it doesn't matter what band you're in, all of us are working hard for ourselves.

Don't even think of giving up now cause it's only a few days to Syf. Jia You!
Go on! Push yourself! And keep working hard okay.

I know it's been very hectic here and there, with the carnival and sports heats ya da ya da.
This is when you can show case how well you manage your time! ( okay whatthehell? )
I know my section well, I know each and everyone of you well. I know all of you can do it, be it with or without the seniors.

Okay random.
Anyway anyways, here's a little note of concern for everyone.
Yay.

Babes, plus ahgirl & handsome.
Perth trip soonnnnnnn.
Everyone, every single one, including those who're not going for Perth exchange,
please please work really hard.
I don't mean to be harsh, but seriously.
You need alot of work.
& you don't have alot of time.
There's sec1 orientation, tenth year anniversary, syf which is much earlier.
Yes, the sec1 orientation & tenth year celebration can be good chances for you guys to perform & experience but.
Ultimately, we need the focus to be there.
It's Roumanian dances, or Jocuri, well I don't know, but it's not really great as a whole section.
I know, some of you may be weaker, slower learners.
Well you have to put in that extra work.
Everyone's here with everyone.
No matter how hard, we'll be there.
Ask, if you aren't really sure.
Response, when there's questions asked.
It's not easy standing up there talking to faces which just stare at you & made no indication to react.
& ultimately, you are the only one who can help yourself.
& I mean every single one of you.
One band, one sound.
One band means every one of you, not just a couple of you trying to support.

Okay, finish my nagging!

Oh hey there everybody who is reading this post which is pretty crappy 'cause it was created out to save this blog ;)
(finally this sentence is finished. ahem)

Well, anyway... What I'm going to write is simple lah.
And even though I have no rights to tell you people off 'cause I'm a sec 1 junior... WHICH I WON'T BE ANYMORE! SOON.

1st, Please do practise your instruments! *even if i admit that i hadn't been practising much*

Mr Sim would love to hear some improvements.
The teachers would love to hear some improvements.
All of us would love to hear some improvements.

So.. Practise! But remember, Practise doesn't make Perfect.
PERFECT Practise makes Perfect.

So, first, you tune. Listen properly to your tone - whether it's too sharp or flat.
And adjust properly accordingly.

Then, do some scores studying & then clap out the tempo.

AND THEN, try to play as if you're the one inside the recording :)

2nd, please memorize Armed Forces Of Parade!

We're going to do a march (video) on the 22nd!
And so, please do remember to bring your Woodgrove PE Shorts as well.
NO house shorts, duh.

And as Dewi had mentioned, 2009 will be a tiring, full & fruitful year.
Gold w'honours for SYF, okay? :)

& yes, I'll try my best to correct myself & to practise daily :)

Hello section mates ,
Tanglin School Performance is finally over , it was way long ago .
& we did very well for that .
I think ? Hahahax .
& We've gotten a big bar of chocolate ; Nestle Haven
from the school as a gift , if i'm not wrong .
The Chocolate was indeed very sweet right ??

Well fun and games need to be cut down abit BECAUSE
we need to concentrate on SYF next year since we have already gotten
our set piece which is Overture No. 1 and
our choice piece is Roumanian Dances or preferred to be called as Jocuri .

And not to forget the Sec 1 Orientation , and the exchange with MSLBAND .
Next year is a very busy year cause there's a few events ,
example ; school 10th year anniversary , aesthetics night , sec 1 orientation
& a few more i think . We must grab every opportunity that is given to us .
& strive for the very best !

Lastly , 7 more days to Perth Trip .
For those members who are not going/could not go for the Perth Trip like me ,
don't be discourage . We will get our chance next time , don't worry .
Be patient and don't be sad . ^^

For those members who are going to Perth Trip , do take good care of yourself alright ?
& do WGSSB proud and DON'T FORGET TO BRING US SOMETHING .

Wanna know the actual reason why Clarinet Section laughed out loud during combined?

Apparently, out of no where, the gas came out. And you've got to see my reaction. Caroline could not stop laughing about it. So yeah, I farted and I apologies. HAHAHA.
